Greetings,
Today's post is all about developing a Growth Mindset. If you're a parent of a child from age 5-17 right now, you've likely heard a ton about Growth or Fixed Mindsets when it comes to many parts of life: School, Sports, employment/interviews, GAP Year/College applications, etc. If you haven't heard much about it until now, ask your child about the "power of yet."
Developing a growth mindset starts with learning about our thoughts, feelings, and reflections on ourselves/our skills. Once we have the skills to catch our thoughts, examine them, and make a conscious choice about how to motivate ourselves to accomplish the current task, we develop a bit of personal agency. It is this agency seed that will grow into other developmental skills that can help kids become successful adults.
I teach Growth vs. Fixed Mindset using a series of videos on Class Dojo.
